17th Elementz Science Project Competition and Exhibition  Primary 6 Project Title: Eggshell as Chalk
(Gold Award)

This project investigated the effectiveness of chicken eggshell as a substitute for commercial chalk. The group also investigated if flour and starch affect the effectiveness of eggshell as a substitute for chalk.

The students investigated the composting rate based on different fruit peels and two compost conditions. The project aimed to find the fastest way to make compost.

Project Title: Effects of Food Such As Garlic, Onion and Ginger on Yeast Growth

This investigation aimed to find out the effects of garlic, onion, ginger and chilli on the growth of yeast. They found out that chilli slows down the growth of yeast the most.

 2018 Singapore Youth Science fair Project Title: Strength of Plastic Sheets Made From Recycled Plastic Bags    

This investigation aimed to find out the strength of plastic sheets made from different numbers of layers of recycled plastic bags from two different sources. These newly-created plastic sheets can be used to make new and useful products such as pencil cases and pouches.

International Science Drama Competition 2018

This year’s theme is “Science in Sports” and our students combined science and drama in their performance to bring out the theme.
